DIXFIELD—For the past two months agents from the MDEA Western District Task Force conducted an investigation into the illegal trafficking of drugs from the Dixfield residence of Joshua Campbell, 38. During the investigation agents were able to conduct undercover purchases of illegal drugs to include crack cocaine from the residence.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at approximately 9:00 a.m., a search warrant was executed at Campbell’s residence, 57B High Street in Dixfield. As agents attempted to gain entrance into the residence, Campbell physically attempted to block entry inside but was subsequently taken into custody.

Agents outside the residence confronted Kenneth McCoullum, 33, of Portland, who had opened a second-floor window in an attempt to flee, McCoullum tossed a firearm he had in his hand before returning inside. Agents confronted McCoullum in a second-floor bathroom where he was attempting to destroy several bags of illegal drugs. McCoullum was taken into custody without further incident.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 225 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, 10 grams of fentanyl, assorted unidentified capsules and pills, three loaded firearms, and $4,350 in drug proceeds.

It was later determined that McCoullum had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Somerset County charging, failing to appear in court for drug trafficking and firearm charges with a bail set on the warrant at $100,000. McCoullum was also out on bail from previous drug related charges where he was required to wear an electronic monitoring device.
