ON THE AGENDA: Town & School Meetings This Week.

It’s our round up of upcoming government meetings. All are public. That means you can go and be involved.

Every week we document the Mount Desert Island region’s government and school meetings that we know of. Please let us know if we’ve missed something.

Also, sometimes things on the town and school calendars are cancelled or rescheduled, so make sure to doublecheck before you head over!

This is especially true if no agenda has been posted. Sometimes agendas are posted later in the week and are not available at our Monday press time. And sometimes (because Southwest Harbor’s website has corruption issues) we can’t safely download an agenda.

Again, if there are no agendas posted for an event, please verify with the town that it is occurring. We don’t want you heading over for no reason, but we do want everyone to know that:

  1. They can head over.
  2. What’s going on in their town government or at school board meetings.

All meetings are open to the public. If there is an executive session, that part of the meeting is not open.

When things change and we know (agendas are uploaded, meetings are cancelled), we will do our best to update the article as well.

BAR HARBOR:

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

According to Bar Harbor’s website, “Meetings that are broadcast live can be viewed at home by watching Cable Access Channel 7 or 1303 (Spectrum Cable only) and online at Town Hall Streams.”

CRANBERRY ISLES:

Agenda for the Cranberry Isles Comprehensive Plan Committee meeting on June 10, 2026, including participants, date, time, and discussion topics.

FRENCHBORO:

Agenda for the Select Board Meeting of the Town of Frenchboro, scheduled for June 8, 2026, at 5:00 pm, detailing approval of minutes, new meeting scheduling, reports, old business items, and new business topics.

MOUNT DESERT:

There is a Planning Board meeting on the calendar, however, the agenda is for June 24.

SOUTHWEST HARBOR:

There is a Sustainability meeting on the calendar, but no agenda is currently posted.

SWAN’S ISLAND:

The Select Board meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 4 p.m. at the Town Office. 6 p.m. meetings will resume in the spring.

TREMONT:

There is a Planning Board on the calendar, but that is on election day and there is no agenda currently posted.

TRENTON:

Agenda for the Board of Selectmen meeting on June 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Includes items such as call to order, visitors to be heard, approval of agenda and minutes, fire department report, new business including nominations and speed limit sign, approval of warrants, updates, executive session details, and adjournment notice.
Agenda for the Planning Board meeting in Trenton, Maine, scheduled for June 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., listing items including acceptance of the agenda, approval of previous minutes, discussion on Acadia Starlight Retreats and short-term rentals, along with other business and adjournment.

HANCOCK COUNTY COMMISSIONERS:

MDI HIGH SCHOOL AND AOS MEETINGS:
