BAR HARBOR

Nomination papers are not yet available at the town office in Bar Harbor for the 13 different seats that will be open.

• Town Council: 3 seats for 3-year terms.
• School Board Member: 2 seats for 3-year terms.
• MDI High School Trustee: 1 seat for a 3-year term.
• Warrant Committee: 5 seats for 3-year terms and 2 seats for a 1-year term.

MOUNT DESERT

Nomination papers are now available at the town office in Northeast Harbor for five different seats. All nomination papers must be returned by 4:30 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026.

• Selectboard: 2 seats for 3-year terms.
• School Board Member: 1 seat for a 3-year term.
• MDI High School Trustee: 1 seat for a 3-year term; 1 seat for a 1-year term.

As of Thursday afternoon, incumbent Chair John Macauley and David MacDonald have returned papers for the selectboard. There are outstanding (and not yet turned in) papers for the school board seat and no papers yet out on the MDI High School Trustees.

SOUTHWEST HARBOR

Nomination papers are available at the town office now in Southwest Harbor for five different seats. All nomination papers must be returned by 5:30 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2026.

• Select Board: 2 seats for 3-year terms.
• School Board Member: 2 seats for 3-year terms.
• MDI High School Trustee: 1 seat for a 3-year term.

As of Thursday afternoon, James “Jim” Vallette has returned papers for the select board.

TRENTON

Nomination papers are available now in Trenton at the town office for three different seats and must be returned by Thursday, March 19, 2026. A minimum of 25 registered voter signatures are required.

• Select Board: 2 seats for 3-year-terms.
• School Board Member: 1 seat for a 3-year-term.

The school committee has one opening, and no one has taken out papers as of this date. Incumbents Fred Ehrlenbach and Susan Sargent have returned papers for the select board.
