All is okay

BAR HARBOR—The Mount Desert Island High School was locked down for a short amount of time this afternoon. School had ended, but there were multiple afterschool events occurring.
Acadia National Park rangers assisted and shut down the entrance to the high school at the request of Bar Harbor Police Department.
At 3:40 p.m., Superintendent Mike Zboray sent a message via email stating, “This afternoon, following the close of school, an emergency alarm went off at MDIHS. Following our protocols, the school went into a lockdown and notified law enforcement. A thorough walkthrough of the building by law enforcement determined there was no threat or danger to anyone in the building and gave the all clear for our after school activities to continue.”
“The safety of all our students, staff, community, and visitors remains our greatest priority. We want to assure you we implemented our safety protocols and will continue to review these protocols to assure they are implemented swiftly and efficiently to protect our students, staff, and community,” he continued.
In November 2022, Mount Desert Island High School went into a lockdown after a threats from a student.
The suspect involved in that threat was eventually detained and students, teachers, and staff were reunited with their loved ones.
