BAR HARBOR—A New Hampshire man’s body was recovered from Clark Cove Thursday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Department of Marine Resources, “The Maine Marine Patrol/State Police Underwater Recovery team recovered the body of 20-year-old Gregory Taylor of New Hampshire today at approximately 6:00 p.m. from Clark Cove in Bar Harbor.”
According to the Bangor Daily News’ article posted on June 28, “Gregory Taylor, 20, had just come ashore at Clark Cove after kayaking, exited the kayak and reentered the water without a life jacket and began to struggle, according to Jeff Nichols, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Marine Resources.”

Multiple agencies had responded to Clark Point Thursday afternoon after a report of a person who was swimming in the water and in distress.
Bar Harbor police and fire departments responded to the area of Clark Cove close to 3:30 p.m. The emergency personnel were assisted by Trenton Fire Department, Mount Desert Fire Department, Marine Patrol, Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, and Acadia National Park. Clark Cove Road had restricted access as multiple boats deployed and officers searched the shore.
