It’s our round up of upcoming government meetings. All are public. That means you can go and be involved.

Every week we document the Mount Desert Island region’s government and school meetings that we know of. Please let us know if we’ve missed something.

Also, sometimes things on the town and school calendars are cancelled or rescheduled, so make sure to doublecheck before you head over!

This is especially true if no agenda has been posted. Sometimes agendas are posted later in the week and are not available at our Monday press time. And sometimes (because Southwest Harbor’s website has corruption issues) we can’t safely download an agenda.

Again, if there are no agendas posted for an event, please verify with the town that it is occurring. We don’t want you heading over for no reason, but we do want everyone to know that:

  1. They can head over.
  2. What’s going on in their town government or at school board meetings.

All meetings are open to the public. If there is an executive session, that part of the meeting is not open.

When things change and we know (agendas are uploaded, meetings are cancelled), we will do our best to update the article as well.

BAR HARBOR:

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

According to Bar Harbor’s website, “Meetings that are broadcast live can be viewed at home by watching Cable Access Channel 7 or 1303 (Spectrum Cable only) and online at Town Hall Streams.”

CRANBERRY ISLES:

Meeting notice for the Cranberry Isles Select Board scheduled for February 17, 2026, at 8:30 A.M. at the Town Office on Little Cranberry Island, including agenda items.

FRENCHBORO:

No agendas online.

MOUNT DESERT:

A public meeting notice for the Town of Mount Desert's LUZO Advisory Group & Planning Board scheduled for February 17, 2026, at 5:00 PM, detailing in-person location and Zoom attendance instructions.

SOUTHWEST HARBOR:

Agenda for a Planning Board Meeting in Southwest Harbor, scheduled for February 17, 2026, includes topics like roll call, approval of previous minutes, conflict of interest, old and new business discussions, and the next meeting date.

SWAN’S ISLAND:

The Select Board meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 4 p.m. at the Town Office. 6 p.m. meetings will resume in the spring.

TREMONT:

Agenda for the Select Board Meeting at Tremont Town Office on February 17, 2026, detailing items such as roll call, public hearing for the Deer Management Plan, approval of minutes, and setting the next meeting date.

TRENTON:

Agenda for the Board of Selectmen meeting on February 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., including sections for call to order, visitor input, approval of agenda and minutes, fire department report, old and new business, approval of payroll warrants, and other business. Contains Zoom meeting link, meeting ID, and passcode.

HANCOCK COUNTY COMMISSIONERS:

Agenda for a special meeting of the Hancock County Commissioners held on February 18, 2026, detailing items such as the call to order, adoption of the agenda, public comments, and specific action programs related to the Aroostook County.

No meetings.
