Officer Judson Cake spoke with someone in Bar Harbor about some mental health issues.

Officer Zack Kline responded to a complaint in Mount Desert of a motor vehicle with out of state plates passing a stopped school bus with lights and sign displayed. Officer Kline could not locate the vehicle.

A woman from Ellsworth went into the Bar Harbor Police Department wishing to speak with an officer about something. Before an officer could speak with the woman, she left.

An officer went to the Eagle Lake Road in Bar Harbor in reference to a motor vehicle complaint but could not locate the suspect vehicle.

Officer Kline gave a ride to a father and son who were trying to walk to Bar Harbor from Otter Creek.

Officer Ted Cake responded to a complaint of loose animals in the roadway in Mount Desert but could not locate any animals.

Officer Amie Torrey took a report of a possible violation of a protection order in Mount Desert. Officer Torrey found that no violation had occurred but documented the complaint.

Andrew G. Smith, 44, of Southwest Harbor, was driving a 2015 Subaru Legacy and heading south on Route 3 in Bar Harbor when he allegedly crossed the centerline and collided head-on with Joseph B. Willette, 30, of Old Town, who was driving a 2012 Dodge Avenger and heading in the opposite direction. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to disabling front-end damage. Willette declined medical attention while Smith was transported to MDI Hospital. Smith was also charged with alleged operating under the influence, alleged failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle, alleged operating in more than one travel lane.

Sgt. Jerrod Hardy warned a Bar Harbor resident for disorderly conduct. No further information or disposition was given.

Officer Elias Burne performed a well-being check on Cottage Street in Bar Harbor and found the subject to be merely sleeping on a bench and not in need of any assistance.

An officer is investigating a report of alleged child abuse in Bar Harbor that was passed on by the Department of Health and Human Services.

A man called the Bar Harbor Police Department wanting to speak about people coming to his house. No further information or disposition was given.

Officer Troy Stanwood assisted an intoxicated person with finding their way back to their hotel in Bar Harbor.

After conducting a motor vehicle stop, Officer Nathan Formby summonsed Kevin Ross, 26, of Greenbush, for alleged operating under the influence in Bar Harbor.

Officer Stanwood spoke with someone in Bar Harbor who was having a mental health crisis.

Officer T. Cake took a report from someone in Bar Harbor that they were missing some money and wanted it documented.

Officer Kline spoke with a couple that were camping in their vehicle in Bar Harbor. The couple said that their vehicle was broken down and that they were waiting on a part to fix it. Officer Kline gave the couple his contact information in case they were not able to get the part.

The Mount Desert Police Department took a report of a juvenile that was missing from a Northeast Harbor business. Police responded and found that the parents had already located the juvenile.

Officer T. Cake responded to a report of a person sleeping in public in Bar Harbor and advised the slumbering person of the issue with sleeping in town.

Officer Kline assisted a FedEx driver whose vehicle had gotten stuck in a driveway in Bar Harbor. The driver was able to get the truck unstuck.

A Bar Harbor resident called to inquire about a possible protection order violation that was determined by Officer Kline to not be a violation, but the incident was documented.

The Ellsworth Police Department requested the Bar Harbor Police department to serve a no trespass warning to someone. Officer Kline determined that the person had moved back to Ellsworth and advised the EPD of such.

Someone reported the theft of seismic equipment from a property in Mount Desert. Officer Kline was able to determine that the equipment had been moved by the property’s caretaker and that no crime had occurred.  

Officer T. Cake responded to a motor vehicle complaint in Bar Harbor, located the vehicle, and spoke with the driver about the complaint.

Sgt. Hardy facilitated the exchange of property between two people in Bar Harbor.

Someone called the Bar Harbor Police Department to report some information.

Officer Liam Harrington took a report of two people smoking marijuana in public in Bar Harbor. No further information or disposition was given.

Officer Harrington took a report of attempted fraudulent activity in Bar Harbor. No further information or disposition was given.

Officer Harrington took a report of a parking problem in Bar Harbor. No further information or disposition was given.

Officer Formby handled a complaint of an argument between family members in Mount Desert and determined that no crime had taken place.

Officer Burne handled a light night barking dog complaint in Northeast Harbor.

In Bar Harbor, Officer Stanwood responded to a motor vehicle making bad passes but was unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

An officer responded to a Wayman Lane business in Bar Harbor for a parking complaint.

Lt. Kevin Edgecomb provided a ride for an elderly woman in Bar Harbor.

Officer T. Cake performed a well-being check on someone in Mount Desert. The person was located and transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Officer Stanwood responded to a complaint of a parked vehicle blocking a driveway in Bar Harbor and got the owner of the offending vehicle to move it.

Officer Stanwood is investigating the report of someone passing a stopped school bus in Bar Harbor.

Officer Burne is investigating a report of criminal mischief in Bar Harbor.

Officer Burne documented a report from someone, but no crime occurred.

A man was warned for disorderly conduct in Bar Harbor. No further information or disposition was given.

Officer Burne arrested Sebastian O. Valentino, 53, of Bar Harbor for alleged theft and alleged violation of conditions of release.

Sgt. Chris Dickens responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at a Somesville business and learned that the driver was waiting for a family member to be dropped off.

Officer Harrington took a report of a person lying on a sidewalk in Bar Harbor but was unable to locate anyone.


Thursday, June 6, 2024

Officer Burne performed a well-being check in Bar Harbor, located the person, and found them to be fine.

A motor vehicle complaint was made to the Mount Desert Police Department, but no officers were in the area to look for the suspect vehicle.

Officer Burne is investigating a report of alleged child abuse in Bar Harbor. The complaint has been referred to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Officer Caleb Mora took a report of a dog bite in Bar Harbor. No further information or disposition was given.

Someone reported locating drug paraphernalia in Mount Desert, but Officer Stanwood was unable to locate it.

Someone reported a turtle in their driveway in Bar Harbor, but the turtle had moved on by the time Officer Stanwood arrived.

Sgt. Dickens met with a group of Beech Hill area residents in Mount Desert to discuss traffic concerns and outlined some ways to address the issues.

Sgt. Dickens responded to a motor vehicle complaint on Route 3 in Bar Harbor but was unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

Sgt. Dickens responded to a suspicious vehicle on private property complaint in Bar Harbor. The vehicle belonged to a bicycle tour company and was moved.

Sgt. Dickens spoke with two people regarding child welfare and child custody issues in Mount Desert.

Someone reported that their vehicle was missing in Bar Harbor. Officer Judson Cake helped the person locate their vehicle and warned them not to drive because of their level of intoxication.

Officer J. Cake arrested Kelley McKnight, 42, of Bar Harbor for alleged operating under the influence and alleged operating after suspension in Bar Harbor. McKnight was transported to the Hancock County Jail.

Sgt. Dickens provided a ride for two people from Trenton to Bar Harbor at the request of another law enforcement agency.

Officers assisted with traffic control for a vehicle fire in Bar Harbor.

Officer T. Cake spoke with a Bar Harbor resident about questions related to abandoned property.

A Bar Harbor resident called the Bar Harbor Police Department to report some information regarding a court hearing. No further information or disposition was given.

Officer T. Cake provided a ride for two people to the village green in Bar Harbor who had been walking along Route 3 in heavy rain.

Lt. Edgecomb responded to a report of a tractor trailer that was disabled on the Eagle Lake Road in Bar Harbor, but the truck had gotten under way prior to his arrival.

Officer Mora attempted to locate a vehicle that was the subject of a motor vehicle complaint in Bar Harbor but could not locate it.

Officer Kline responded to a speeding motor vehicle complaint on the Knox Road in Bar Harbor, located the vehicle, and spoke with the driver about the complaint.

At the request of another agency, Sgt. Dickens warned someone in Bar Harbor not to have any contact with a person who resides elsewhere.


Saturday, June 8, 2024

After conducting a traffic stop in Bar Harbor, Officer Stanwood arrested Javier Tinoco-Diaz, 25, of Ellsworth, on an active arrest warrant. Tinoco-Diaz was transported to the Hancock County Jail.

After a man arrived to pick up passengers who’d been in a vehicle where the driver had been arrested for having an active warrant, Officer J. Cake made that man aware that he, too, had an active arrest warrant.

A Bar Harbor resident turned in two firearms to the Bar Harbor Police Department for destruction.

Officer Mora responded to a noise complaint in Bar Harbor, discovered that it was an alarm, and notified the owner.

Officers responded to a report of a man sitting along the side of the Crooked Road in Bar Harbor and transported him to Ellsworth at his request.

Amanda Burrows, 38, of Bar Harbor, was issued summonses for alleged violation of a protection order, alleged violation of conditions of release, and alleged refusing to submit to arrest or detention in Bar Harbor.  

Officer Stanwood took a complaint of a parking issue on private property in Bar Harbor. The complaint is under investigation.

Officer Torrey took a complaint of phone harassment in Bar Harbor and spoke with both parties. No further information or disposition was given.

Following a traffic stop by Officer Stanwood in Bar Harbor, Callie Wetter, 24, of Hancock, was arrested for alleged criminal speed. Wetter was issued a summons and then released.

Officer Stanwood transported a lost person home to Bar Harbor.

After receiving a motor vehicle complaint in Bar Harbor, officers searched the area for the suspect vehicle but could not locate it.

Lt. Edgecomb transported some cruise ship passengers in Bar Harbor to MDI Hospital.

A Connecticut woman went into the Bar Harbor Police Department to report a dog bite and another matter that had occurred in Southwest Harbor and was referred to the Southwest Harbor Police Department.

Monday, June 3, 2024

Officer Ryan Blakeney responded to an alarm at a local building but was called off by the security company before he could arrive.

Officers James Kamorski and Blakeney responded to a complaint by a Bar Harbor resident stating that they were assaulted in Southwest Harbor and are investigating the complaint.

Officers Blakeney and Kamorski spoke with a person who was seeking advice on dealing with an issue that the person is having with a peer.


Tuesday, June 4, 2024

Officer Blakeney responded to a residential burglar alarm and found the residence to be secured with no obvious issues.

Officer Kamorski was on his way to assist a resident that was locked out of their apartment, but the resident called back before he could arrive and stated that they were able to get themselves into their apartment.

The Southwest Harbor Police Department received a call about a business alarm but was notified by the business owner that it was a false alarm.

Chief John Hall responded to a a report of a tractor trailer broken down on the Bass Harbor Road, but the vehicle was moved prior to his arrival.

Officer Bradley Russell is investigating a report of an illegally parked vehicle.

Officer Russell is investigating a complaint by a 41-year-old woman stating that she was scammed out of $10,000 by a phone scam, in which the caller pretended to be law enforcement.

Officer Russell arrested Zachery Fisher, 37, of Southwest Harbor for alleged operating under the influence. Fisher was transported to the Hancock County Jail.

A resident brought an injured snapping turtle that had been struck by a car to the Southwest Harbor Police Department. Officer Kamorski transported the turtle to the Acadia Wildlife Center.

Officer Kamorski responded to a complaint of trailer being parked half in the roadway on Seawall Road and was able to get someone to move the trailer to a safer spot.

Chief Hall spoke with someone on the phone from out of state. That person had discovered a short-term rental listing on both VRBO and Craigslist that was a scam. The residence was determined to actually be in Tremont, so Chief Hall gave the caller the contact information for the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.

Maine State Police Investigate Child Death in Thomaston and Make Arrest

THOMASTON—On May 29, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Thomaston police and rescue responded to the Wal-Mart in Thomaston for a report of a child not breathing. The child was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center where the child was pronounced dead. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit was called and responded to investigate which is protocol in all child deaths in Maine. An autopsy will be conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death. The investigation into the death continues.

On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit obtained an arrest warrant for 23-year-old Aziayh Scott, of Owls Head, charging him with manslaughter in connection to the death of 22-month-old Quayshawn Wilson that occurred on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Thomaston. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta conducted an autopsy on Thursday, May 30, 2024, and ruled the cause of death was blunt force trauma and manner of death was homicide. 

Scott, who is originally from Louisiana, had recently moved to Maine and was living with his girlfriend and the child in Owls Head. Detectives learned after going to the residence in Owls Head on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, the couple had returned to Louisiana. After learning this information, Maine State Police detectives coordinated with the Louisiana State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service Maine Violent Offender Task Force and Scott was arrested on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in the city of New Orleans. Scott was taken to Orleans Parish Prison in New Orleans and the process to extradite Scott back to Maine for the charge of manslaughter will now begin. 


Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Press Release

SHERMAN—On Tuesday, June 4, 2024, following a traffic stop on I-95 in Sherman, a New Hampshire man was arrested and charged with felony drug trafficking offenses.

MDEA’s Aroostook County Task Force received information about a vehicle travelling from Massachusetts to Aroostook County containing illegal narcotics. Agents were able to determine the vehicle was likely being operated by 34-year-old Timothy Pinkham, of Somersworth, New Hampshire, and that his license to drive was suspended. 

With assistance from the Maine State Police, the vehicle was located on I-95 north. Working with agents, a Maine State Trooper was able to determine Pinkham was indeed the operator of the vehicle. The trooper then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on I-95 north in Sherman. During the stop Pinkham attempted to dispose of suspected fentanyl. Pinkham was detained and the vehicle was searched by agents and the trooper. 

During the search over 1300 grams (2.8 pounds) of methamphetamine and over 3.5 grams of fentanyl were located. Also located in the vehicle was a locked container, which agents later obtained a search warrant for. Located in the container was another 441 grams of methamphetamine, bringing the total amount seized to over 3.8 pounds. The street value of the methamphetamine seized is over $150,000.

Pinkham was taken to the Aroostook County Jail and charged with class A aggravated trafficking of scheduled W drugs, two counts of unlawful furnishing schedule W drugs, two counts of unlawful possession of schedule W drugs, and operating without a license. Bail was set at $75,000 cash.

Agents were also assisted on the stop by the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.

The MDEA stands committed to working with all federal, state, county, and local law enforcement partners in order to continue to identify and disrupt drug trafficking organizations who are attempting to distribute illicit drugs in the State of Maine.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Maine State Police Investigating Crash that Injured a Trooper

SIDNEY—On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Cpl. Garret Booth was traveling northbound on I-95 in Sidney when 34-year-old Keishaunna Tavares, of San Diego, California, who was driving a 2019 Kia Optima, fell asleep, causing her foot to press on the accelerator and her vehicle to speed up, uncontrollably rear-ending Cpl. Booth’s cruiser at a high rate of speed. Cpl. Booth sustained an arm injury and was taken to Maine General Medical Center in Augusta for evaluation. He has been released. Tavares was issued a citation for failing to maintain control of her motor vehicle. She was not injured.

The impact of the collision caused damage to both vehicles, both of which were towed from the scene.

Central Field Troop and Troop I were assisted on scene by: MDOT, Delta Ambulance, Sidney Fire/Rescue, and Ready Road Towing.

This crash remains under investigation.


Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Press Release

ROCKPORT—The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency announces the arrest of six individuals during the execution of two simultaneous search warrants at residences on Beech Hill Road in Rockport, following a several months long investigation into illegal drug trafficking from the residences. Fentanyl, cocaine base, (crack) and numerous firearms, including a suspected fully automatic rifle were seized.

Arrested were:

  • Eldon Bennett41, of Rockport, was arrested for aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs class A, and outstanding arrest warrants. Bail was set at $10,000.  Bennett is currently being held at Knox County Jail in Rockland.  
  • Holly Beaupre40, of Rockport, was arrested for unlawful possession of schedule W drugs, class C. Beaupre was held without bail.  Beaupre is currently being held at Knox County Jail in Rockland. 
  • Sean Oesterlin33, of Rockport, was arrested for aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs class A. Bail was set at $10,000 unsecured cash. Oesterlin was transported to the Knox County Jail where he was allowed to bail. 
  • Lawrence Wotton-Thayer, 37, of Waldoboro, was arrested on one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a prohibited person class C, and outstanding arrest warrants. Bail was set at $1000 cash. Wotton-Thayer is currently being held at Knox County Jail in Rockland. 
  • Luis Cheveres-Rivera38, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, was arrested for one count of aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs class A. Bail was set at $10,000 cash. Cheveres-Rivera is being held at Knox County Jail in Rockland
  • Randy Lohones, 32, of Dorchester, Massachusetts was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by a prohibited person class C and outstanding arrest warrants. Lohones was held without bail. Lohones is being held at Knox County Jail in Rockland. 

Since January, agents from the Mid-Coast District Task Force began an investigation into illegal drug trafficking conducted by Bennett and Oesterlin, of Rockport, with Cheveres-Rivera, of Elizabeth, New Jersey. Agents conducted undercover purchases of illegal narcotics from the three at residences on Beech Hill Road in Rockport over the past several months.  

After obtaining a search warrant for the residences, agents, with the assistance of the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, Camden/Rockport Police Department, and Rockland Police Department executed the search warrants in the early morning of Wednesday, June 5, 2024.  During the search of the residences, agents located over 60 grams of fentanyl, 8 grams of cocaine base, four handguns, three shotguns and seven rifles. Agents determined one of the rifles, a loaded AK 47 is suspected to have been altered to a fully automatic firearm. Agents also removed a St. Bernard from one of the residences due to the animal’s living conditions and neglect.   

Bennett, Beaupre, Wotton-Thayer, Cheveres-Rivera, and Lohones are scheduled to appear in Knox County court on Friday, June 7, 2024, where more charges may be brought. 

Assisting MDEA in this investigation were representatives from Camden/Rockport Police Department, Rockland Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Department, and Rockport Fire Department.


Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Press Release

BANGOR—On June 6, 2024, MDEA agents, assisted by the Bangor Police Department and members of the U.S. DEA executed a search warrant at an apartment located at 54 Charles Street in Bangor. The search warrant was the result of a several-month-long investigation by MDEA’s North Central Task Force which included undercover purchases of fentanyl. 

Occupying the apartment and charged with class A, aggravated drug trafficking offenses were:

  • Shameek Harris, 31, of New York, New York. No Bail.
  • Wenona Lola, 52, of Bangor. No Bail.
  • Roger Brown, 43, of Bangor. No Bail.

Charges on the three suspects were aggravated due to the quantity of drugs seized along with the presence of firearms. Both are scheduled to make an initial court appearance June 7, 2024, in Bangor where bail is expected to be set.

Seized during the search of the apartment were over 200 grams of cocaine base (crack), over 140 grams of fentanyl, $11,287 in suspected drug proceeds, and a loaded .40 caliber handgun. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $45,000.


Maine State Police Bomb Squad Investigates Potentially Live Grenade in West Paris

WEST PARIS—On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at approximately 11:27 a.m., the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office requested the Maine State Police Bomb Squad’s assistance as they were responding to potential unexploded ordinance at a private residence on High Street in West Paris.

Sgt. Pescitelli along with Apprentice Technician Dan Murray arrived on scene and secured the item which was identified as an MK2 “pineapple” grenade. Utilizing x-ray imaging they observed characteristics consistent with a grenade still containing energetic material. The item was secured in the Bomb Squad’s possession for disposal at a later time. Oxford County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chasse talked to the caller who stated the item most likely came from a family member who served during WWII or the Korean War.


Maine State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Mars Hill

MARS HILL––On Thursday, June 6, 2024, at approximately 1:07 p.m., the Maine State Police responded to a report of a car vs. motorcycle crash that occurred on West Ridge Road in Mars Hill. The initial investigation indicates that the operator of a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound, and the driver of a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling northbound when the two vehicles met at a curve in the road and collided.

The operator of the motorcycle, 50-year-old Lance Kierstead, of Easton, was seriously injured. He was transported to North Lights AR Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the sedan was 42-year-old Jamie Avery, of Easton. She was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.  


Maine State Police Investigates Tractor Trailer Crash in Aroostook County

T8 R5—On Thursday, June 6, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Maine State Police responded to a report of a tractor trailer unit roll over on Rt. 11 in T8 R5. The caller reported that the driver of the tractor trailer was trapped in the cab and was injured. Troopers responded to the scene along with emergency crews from Island Falls, Masardis, and Ashland Fire Departments. The Maine Warden Service also responded to assist.

The initial investigation determined that the truck drifted off the roadway rolling onto the driver’s side. The driver, 74-year-old Timothy Folsom, of Ludlow, was extricated from the truck and transported to Houlton Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing. Rt. 11 was shut down for approximately one hour.


Maine State Police K9 Geno Helps Locate Elderly Driver’s Purse on I-95

PITTSFIELD/AUGUSTA—During the late hours of June 5, 2024, troopers from Troop I received a call from an elderly female driver who reported that she had lost her purse while traveling southbound on I-95 between Pittsfield and Augusta. The driver had to pull over due to a medical emergency, and in the process, her purse was lost on the side of the interstate. 

Trooper Logan Roberts, with the assistance of his patrol K-9 Geno, determined the area the female had been and initiated an article search. Demonstrating their teamwork and dedication, Trooper Roberts and Geno were able to locate the purse, which was found untouched on the side of the interstate in Pittsfield. The recovered purse was promptly returned to its grateful owner. This incident showcases just one of the many effective utilizations of K-9 teams.


Maine State Police Investigates Accidental Child Death in Limerick

LIMERICK—On June 1, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Limerick Fire/EMS responded to a residence on North Shore Drive in Limerick for an injured child. EMS transported the child and later notified the Maine State Police Southern Field Troop.

Investigators learned that 6-year-old Lucy Morgan received an unintentional injury from her 10-year-old brother while they were playing outside. Investigators learned that the aluminum shaft of a badminton racquet had become dislodged from the wooden handle, causing the shaft to strike the girl in the head, piercing through her skull. She was transported to SMHC in Sanford and then via Life flight to Maine Medical Center in Portland. On June 5, 2024, Lucy died from her injuries.

The children and their parents are from Stockholm, New Jersey, and were vacationing in Maine at the time of the incident.

The Maine State Police would like to extend their deepest condolences to the Morgan family.


Maine State Police Trooper Investigating Domestic Violence Incident in Hiram Shoots and Kills Man

HIRAM—On Friday, June 7, 2024, the Maine State Police responded to the report of a possible domestic violence event occurring at a home in Hiram. Trooper Zachary Fancy responded to the scene. Upon his arrival, Trooper Fancy entered the residence where he was confronted by a man who pointed a firearm at him. Trooper Fancy fired his weapon and struck the individual, killing him. The man was identified as 39-year-old Steven Nelson, of Hiram.

The Office of the Attorney General will investigate the law enforcement use of force and the Maine State Police Major Crimes South will complete a criminal investigation. Trooper Fancy is being placed on administrative leave which is standard practice in any officer involved shooting in Maine.


Maine State Police Investigates Illegal Marijuana Grow in Parsonsfield

PARSONSFIELD—On Friday, June 7, 2024, at approximately 8: 45 a.m., members of the Maine State Police alongside the Office of Homeland Security Investigations, Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP) executed a search warrant at 424 Maplecrest Road in Parsonsfield. 

The community made multiple complaints to the Parsonsfield town office, which passed the complaint on to Maine OCP and the State Police about the high likelihood of a marijuana growing operation. The investigation determined that the residence had been home to an illegal marijuana grow since March of 2022. 

Unsafe living conditions, fire hazards, and harmful pesticides were found alongside the intricate marijuana lighting and hydroponic grow systems. More than 2500 marijuana plants were discovered with most of them being mature budding plants. Per Maine statute, an adult may possess up to 6 mature marijuana plants for recreational use and 6 more mature plants for medical use. The marijuana was all seized and destroyed. No arrests have been made yet. The investigation continues.
